Royals Blow Out Tigers

ROYALS WIN 16-4 over the Detroit Tigers and win the final game of the series and split the 4 game series. The offense scored 16 runs on 19 hits including a solo bomb from Eric Hosmer in the bottom of the 3rd inning and a solo shot by Whit Merrifield in the bottom of the 8th inning. That is home run number 14 for Hosmer and home run number 8 for Merrifield. The Royals scored 4 runs in the 1st, 3rd, 6th and 8th innings in tonight's game. Danny Duffy pitched 5 complete innings giving up 4 runs on 9 hits, 0 walks and 4 strikeouts. The Royals will continue the homestand tomorrow beginning a 3 game series against the Chicago White Sox.
