Royals Take Series Opener Over Athletics

ROYALS WIN 4-2 over the Oakland Athletics and win game 1 of the 3 game series. The offense really wasn't putting runs on the board considering they had 15 plus base runners tonight. Edinson Volquez helped them out though giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, 4 walks and 2 strikeouts. Then handed the ball off to Herrera in the 7th, Soria in the 8th and Davis in the 9th. Eric Hosmer hit a solo shot to straight away center field in the top of the 9th inning giving Wade Davis a insurance run to work with. Game 2 of the series is tomorrow. For the A's Sonny Gray will pitch and Chris Young will pitch for the Royals. The game is scheduled for 3:05 CT at the Oakland Coliseum. #ForeverRoyal -#RoyalNoah
