Royals Avoid Sweep
ROYALS WIN 5-1 over the New York Yankees and win the final game of the 3 game series and avoid being swept by the Yankees. Mike Moustakas hit a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 5th inning hitting his 10th homer on the year. Danny Duffy pitched 7 complete scoreless innings giving up 3 hits, 2 walks and 10 strikeouts. Mike Minor pitched a scoreless 8th inning and even though it wasn't a save situation, Kelvin Herrera came on and pitched the 9th inning. The Royals will now start a 10 game, 3 series road trip starting tomorrow night with game 1 of a 3 game series against the Minnesota Twins. Pitching tomorrow for the Twins is Hector Santiago and Nate Karns will pitch for the Royals. The game is scheduled for 7:10 at Target Field.
