Royals Win In Extras
ROYALS WIN 7-6 in 12 innings over the Tampa Bay Rays and win game 2 of the 4 game series clinching at worst a series split. The Royals were down 4-0 at the end of the first inning and then down 5-1 at the end of 5. Then Salvador Perez hit a 2-run homer in the 6th inning (his 7th of the year) to pull within 2 and that sparked the offense. The Royals scored 2 in the 7th and 1 in the 8th to tie it up and send it into extras. In the 12th inning Mike Moustakas hit his 8th homer of the season and that put the Royals on top by 1. Rookie pitcher Jake Junis received his first career win and Kelvin Herrera came in to close it out in the bottom of the 12th for his 5th save of the season. Pitching game 3 of the series tomorrow for the Rays is Chris Archer and Jason Hammel will pitch for the Royals. The game is scheduled for 6:10 at Tropicana Field.
