Royals Start Homestand Out Strong

ROYALS WIN 4-2 over the Boston Red Sox and win game 1 of the 3 game series. Eric Hosmer got the Royals a 2-0 lead with a 2-run home run to center field. That home run is Hosmer's 8th home run of the season. In the bottom of the 7th inning the Royals scored 2 more runs to jump back ahead by 2 runs. Jason Hammel pitched 7 complete innings giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, 0 walks and 4 strikeouts. Mike Minor came in and pitched a scoreless 8th and Kelvin Herrera came in to pitch the 9th and recorded his 16th save of the season. Pitching game 2 of the series tomorrow for the Red Sox is Chris Sale and Matt Strahm will pitch for the Royals. The game is scheduled for 7:15 at Kauffman Stadium. #RaisedRoyal #RoyalNoah
