Royals Win Series Against Blue Jays
ROYALS WIN 3-2 over the Toronto Blue Jays and win game 2 of the 3 game series and clinch at worst a series win. The win puts the Royals above .500 for the first time in the 2017 season. Jason Vargas got his MLB leading 11th win of the season pitching 7 complete innings giving up 2 runs on 8 hits 0 walks and 2 strikeouts. Joakim Soria came in and pitched a 1-2-3 8th inning and Kelvin Herrera pitched a scoreless 9th inning and recorded his 18th save of the season. The offense scored 3 runs on 5 hits including a solo home run by Eric Hosmer in the bottom of the 4th inning. That home run is the 9th home run this season for Hosmer. Pitching the final game of the series tomorrow for the Blue Jays is Francisco Liriano and Jason Hammel will pitch for the Royals. The game is scheduled for 1:15 at Kauffman Stadium.
