The Miami Marlins have signed their first round pick Braxton Garrett. The deal is worth $4,145,900, the Miami Herald reports.
The Marlins drafted Garrett with the seventh overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft out of Florence High School in Alabama. He went 6-2 as a starter last season, recording a 0.56 ERA. He also only struck out 131 batters.
President of baseball operations Michael Hill said that Garrett will report to the Gulf Coast League team's affiliate in Jupiter, FL.
