Angels Designate Tim Lincecum for Assignment

The Los Angeles Angels have designated pitcher Tim Lincecum for assignment. They are hoping he will play in Triple-A Salt Lake and remain with the team. Jose Valdez will take Lincecum's spot in the Angel's starting rotation.

Lincecum had a horrible outing on Friday. He gave up six runs on nine hits, two walks and just one strikeout in 3 1/3 innings pitch against the Seattle Mariners. His ERA for the season is now at 9.16.
