Danny Duffy Sets Franchise Strikeout Record
ROYALS WIN 3-0 over the Tampa Bay Rays and win game 1 of the 4 game series. The offense scored 3 runs on 9 hits but the real story was Danny Duffy. Danny Duffy pitched 8 complete innings throwing 110 pitches. He threw 7 complete innings of no-hit ball when Desmond Jennings hit a lead off double breaking up the no hitter. Danny recorded 16 strikeouts, setting a Royals franchise record for the most strikeouts in a single game. Pitching game 2 tomorrow for Tampa Bay is Matt Andriese and Yordono Ventura will pitch for the Royals. The game is scheduled for 6:10 at Tropicana Field.
