Trevor Story Out for Season

Colorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story will miss the remainder of the season as he will undergo thumb surgery. He tore a ligament in his thumb after sliding into second base against the New York Mets on Saturday.

He set a rookie shortstop record with 27 home runs. It was three short of tying the major league record of 30 set by Nomar Garciaparra in 1997. The 27 home runs also led the NL. Story also led all NL rookies with 72 RBIs.
