Colby Lewis Out Two Months with Lat Muscle Injury

Texas Rangers pitcher Colby Lewis was placed on the 15-day DL Wednesday. He is expected to miss two months with a strained lateral muscle.

He will not be allowed to throw for at least another four weeks and may not return to the Rangers rotation until the end of August. He will undergo his first MRI in four weeks. From there, he will begin a throwing program.

Lewis is the third pitcher on the DL, joining Yu Darvish and Derek Holland. This comes after Lewis was close to a perfect game in his last start against the Oakland Athletics. The perfect game was broken up in the eighth inning and the no-hitter was broken up in the ninth inning.
