The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed pitcher Clayton Kershaw on the 15-day DL with a lower back injury.

He got an epidural injection on Wednesday for the pain he was feeling in his lower back. While he is going on the 15-day DL, the Dodgers expect him to miss a lot more time than that.

He has been dealing with the pain for about a month, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The Dodgers sent him back to Los Angeles Wednesday, one day after his start against the Pittsburgh Pirates in which he gave up four runs in six innings.
