Dodgers shopping Alex Guerrero

The Dodgers are trying to trade Alex Guerrero. Reports have not been confirmed by the club.
Guerrero, age 29, was signed by the Dodgers as an amateur free agent in 2013. He debuted in 2014, and played 106 games in 2015. Guerrero would be a most ideal fit in the American League as a DH, his defense being a detriment. He has played both third base and left field for the Dodgers, although he mainly played 2nd base and shortstop in his native Cuba. He is in the middle of a 4 year, $28 mil contract, that also stipulates he may not be sent to the minors without his consent, and that if traded, he would become a free agent at the end of the year. Cleveland could be a suitable fit, to bolster their infield and utilize him at DH. The Dodgers may be hoping for a relief pitcher in return.

  1. I think Guerrero can find a home in the NL. The Brewers are rebuilding and are in desperate need of a 3B (Middlebrooks just isn't the answer). Why not take a shot at Guerrero, and give him full-time AB's in a "hitter-friendly" band box.....He could hit 30 HR's there. Personally, I believe that Mattingly didn't like him, so he wasn't motivated there. A change of scenery would probably "bring out the best in him".
