Cardinals Sign Relief Pitcher Seung-Hwan Oh

According to Robert Murray, 33 year old Korean relief pitcher Seung-Hwan Oh passed his physical, which means the Cardinals will be introducing a new bullpen piece.

Nicknamed the "Final Boss", Seung-Hwan Oh pitched for the Hanshin Tigers while finishing with 41 saves and posting a 2.73 ERA last year. That ERA isn't too flashy, but in his career 646 1/3 innings as a closer, he has a 1.81 ERA to go along with a 0.85 WHIP.

Oh will simply be bullpen depth for right now, as he will be battling others for Rosenthal's setup man. The Cardinals are hoping they can get any production from Jordan Walden, as he is coming off of his serious 2015 injury. But if they can't, now they have a very solid backup plan in Oh.

Oh throws a fastball that tops out at 93-95 MPH, along with a slider and a breaking ball. Details of the contract have not yet been released.

UPDATE: Oh signs for 2 years, 11 million.
