Cubs Not Done Yet This Offseason
Cubs were very quiet after signing Jason Heyward and didn't make any moves since then. Cubs are now back in talks with Rays for a young starting pitcher. Reason why both teams are good trade partners because Rays have young pitching and Cubs have young good hitters both teams are in needs of that.
Baez & Soler are both in those trade talks , but more realistically and from sources that Cubs are leaning towards on trading Baez.
Trade Might Look Like
Cubs Get : RHP Jake Odorozzi & LHP Jake McGee
Rays Get : IF Javier Baez, RHP Corey Black 1B Dan Vogelback and OF Mark Zagunis
Cubs are willing to give up their young versatile player for a +2 and what I mean about +2 is that Jake McGee improves the Bullpen and Odorozzi will give us a good young starter who possibly can outshine Jason Hammel or Kyle Hendricks for a spot.
Jake McGee Posted 1-2 2.41 ERA 39 Games He's only 29
Jake Odorozzi Posted 9-9 3.35 ERA 28 Games He's only 26 ( He's improving year by year )
