BREAKING: The New
York Mets have just signed Yoenis Cespedes to a three-year deal worth $75
million, with an opt-out after the first year.
With the signing of Cespedes, the Mets, are now the NL East
favorites. After a long off -season of
whether the Mets ownership would open up the bank, they have quieted all of the
doubters. Cespedes, for many Mets fans,
was the first priority to lock up a deal this off-season.
In 57 games with the Mets, Cespedes hit .287 with 17 Home
Runs and 44 RBIs. He was the main reason
as to why the Mets clinched the NL East and appeared in the World Series.
After the signing of Cespedes, the Mets outfield consists of
Michael Conforto, Cespedes and Curtis Granderson. The reigning NL East champs have one of the
leagues top outfields, and will look to make another deep playoff run.
Loaded with young pitching, and some elusive offense, the
New York Mets will be a force to be reckoned with come the new season.
