Explanation ?
I know everyone who reading this is going to think I was being bias for having the Cardinals not making it to the Postseason here's why . Last year Cardinals was 100-62 and the Pirates was 2GB & Cubs was 3GB. Cardinals this offseason got worse. Heyward & Lackey was their top 5 WAR guys on the team now their gone. Cardinals are dealing with a lot of injuries all over the field. Molina is reaching his career to be done with. Cardinals haven't done anything yet to replace Heyward. Cardinals Zips for next year is not how they wanted to look Cardinals will be the ones outside looking in once the postseason starts.
Pirates: have a history with losing in the Wild Card game and 2016 Wild Card match up will not get any better they will have to face Madison Bumgarner once again and we all know the outcome of that.
Dodgers: would be the team to beat in the NL West , even though Greinke is gone Dodgers added a lot of good young pitchers who are being compared to Clayton Kershaw now the Dodgers have more starting pitching depth and offense is always something you can improve on and I think Dodgers will figure it out by then
The most intriguing team in the NL will be the Dbacks if they can be consistent the whole year the Giants & Dodgers would have some major problems. Dbacks would be better if they had a good Bullpen
We will be doing a Q&A with former Arkansas Razorback and now Los Angles Dodger, Mike Bolsinger on Monday, comment your questions below or let us know on Twitter or Facebook!

Agree with most, but the Dodgers did NOT make the improvements that they needed....IMHO. The pitching staff looks like it could go either way, and the saving grace for them, might be the July 31st trade deadline. If they are in the running.....they'll go out and get a Stud SP to carry them into the playoffs. I do feel like they might not make the playoffs in 2016. I think that team is a mess, from the field all the way up to the top execs. Just a bunch of rich guys who "want to get their 2 cents in". Normally, I like the Dodgers....this year..not so much.
ReplyDeleteI felt the same way as you but Giants players not healthy at all and i doubt Crawford and Belt would have a good season like they had last year if Cueto and Shark have a good year then Giants will win that division but don't forget about the DBacks
DeleteLol your opinion of the Stlcards is wrong. First off, Heyward's only value is his defense. When you look at his offensive numbers they are very average. A whole year from Piscotty will be twice as good as Heyward. Lackey is an aging 38 year old veteran pitcher who had one good year last year. He probably wont put up the same kind of numbers this season. We got a younger version of Lackey in Mike Leake, plus a draft pick. WAR is overrated. Pittsburgh lost two of their best offensive pieces in Alvarez and Walker, so they'll probably take a step back next year. So your opinion of the Stlcards is premature and false!
DeleteFirst off you was wrong by saying MY OPINION was wrong second the cardinals getting mike Leake have nothing to do with anything he went 0-4 or 0-5 with the Giants
DeleteI think it's possible that the Dodgers finish 3rd in their division......
ReplyDeleteAnd Yadi isn't done by a long shot! Nice joke!
ReplyDeleteYadi Molina is done he's no use for the cards anymore . Piscotty deal with injuries do you research on him when he was in college in high school
DeleteJared.....You would have to admit that he is in his final years (how ever many that is...). On Offense, his numbers have been on the decline for a few years now. I know he's been hurt some lately, but HR's are down over 4 years (22, 12, 7, 4....and he played in 136 games last year....4th most of his career). OPS dropping too (.874, .836, .719, .660). The good news is that his K's have NOT increased, so he's still making contact. But he'll be 34 in July and will have caught 1500 games by then (McCann has caught 1380, Martin 1292). He's a great player, but he's got to be getting tired.
ReplyDeleteNo offense Jonathan, but you are an idiot.
ReplyDeleteI'm a idiot because I said cardinals going to be in 3rd place and Molina is not the same and the cardinals deal with injury ? Why you think the cards signed the Reds catcher ? You the idiot one
DeleteEasy guys.....I'm certainly not an idiot, but I have to agree that Yadi is in his declining years. Stats show that clearly. Still a great ballplayer, great clubhouse guy, and still has value. But I bet he doesn't catch 100 games in 2016. He's already caught more games in his career than McCann and Martin, and they're just hanging on now. Loyal fans are going to miss Yadi a lot when he's gone, and I think he's still got 2 years left to play (if healthy). So he's not "Done" in my opinion.....but he's ready to be "phased out". Cards will trade for a young catcher this year some time (they could get a good one from the Rockies if they do a deal for Cargo)....next winter at the latest.
ReplyDeleteFYI...I've been following the Cardinals since Lou Brock, Bob Gibson, Tim McCarver, and Curt Flood played on the team. More recently....I had season tix for Spring Training for 10 years when the Cards first came to Roger Dean Stadium here in Jupiter. Kent Bottenfield is a friend of mine, and I play softball with several former Cardinal players. I'd guess that means that I know a little bit about them...LOL
DeleteTold you guys. I was almost completly right
