The Braves overhauled prospect system continues to be recognized as one of the finest, as two of it's top pitching prospects were included on a list of the best 10 lefty pitching prospects in baseball (as per MLB.com prospect watch).
Sean Newcomb clocked in at number 4, and has the furthest ETA of the the three ahead of him (Urias, Snell, and Matz). He was one half of the haul from the Angels in the Andrelton Simmons deal (Along with Christopher Ellis, also on MLB's top 100), and has done nothing to even suggest he's anything less than the real deal. With an effortless delivery that brings velocity north of 95mph on a lively fastball, It's easy to see him as a compliment to a maturing Julio Teheran at the top of the rotation in 2017.
Kolby Allard peeked in at number 10 on the list, mostly due to back surgery that has limited him to just a few innings (6 to be exact, but he managed 12Ks in that single outing), but the upside is there in a big way. The Braves have proven that injuries will not deter them from high upside prospects, and with such ridiculous depth in the system already, one can assume he will be given plenty of time and leash to develop.
