Rockies Designate Kyle Parker for Assignment

JANUARY 29: As Tom Harding notes, Parker has been outrighted to AAA Albuquerque after clearing waivers.

JANUARY 23: The Rockies announced Wednesday that they have designated LF/1B Kyle Parker for assignment. Parker, 26, was drafted in the first round (26th overall) by Colorado in the 2010 draft. He made his debut June 16, 2014 vs the Dodgers. In 64 games between 2014-15, Parker slashed a meager .182/.217/.295 with 3 HR and 12 RBI, including 3 HR and 11 RBI in the 2015 campaign. Over 930 total plate appearances in the minors, Kyle slashed an impressive .285/.332/.442 with 24 HR.

Parker was a two-sport star at Clemson, playing QB in football and LF/1B in baseball. Kyle became the only student to throw for 20 TDs and hit 20 HR in the same season.
