Well, the Marlins have made a bunch of moves in the last few days, but today's move was the "Best One Yet"!!!.....
Today, the Marlins secured their leadoff hitter and their 2B for the next 5-6 years. They inked Dee Gordon to a 5 year deal worth about $50 Million, with a vesting option for a 6th season at $14 million. That puts his entire package at $64 Million...........just $2 million off of my previous prediction of "what it would take to lock him up for 6 years"......YAY!
No word on whether or not he got any kind of no-trade clause or opt-out, but I'd guess that he didn't get either one.
Looking forward to having Gordon, Yelich, Stanton at the Top of the Lineup for many years to come!
