I would like to introduce myself as the new Washington Nationals Beat Writer for Everything MLB Inc.
So thus far in the offseason the Nationals have had the benefit of signing Daniel Murphy (Who when healthy, has a smoking hot bat and is an amazing defender) In addition to Daniel Murphy, the Nationals were able to get Stephen Drew, who isn't a bad option for a number 5 infielder. In 428 plate appearances last year for the Yankees, Drew had 17 homers and 16 doubles, which isn't bad bat power for an aging infielder in his age 32 season. Reports speculate it'll be Ryan Zimmerman at 1st,Murphy at 2nd,Trea Turner at Shortstop and Anthony Rendon at 3rd. Personally I believe the starting infielders will be Zimmerman at 1st,Murphy at 2nd,Danny Espinosa at Short and Rendon at 3rd with Trea Turner just moving up to the majors from AA Potomac. He's still young and it'll be a good learning experience should he prove to not be ready for the majors. Currently the Nats are pulling in interest from Gerardo Parra as once again a valuable addition. All additions at this point are positives for the Nats on both ends of the bat. Maybe we could garner interest from a Yoenis Cespedes or Dexter Fowler.
Once again this is your new Nationals writer and until next time go Nats!!
