Blue Jays Place Marco Estrada on DL

The Toronto Blue Jays have placed pitcher Marco Estrada on the DL with an issue with his lower back. He will miss the All-Star Game at Petco Park in San Diego on July 12.

He has been dealing with back soreness since the middle of June. He was supposed to start the Blue Jays' game against the Detroit Tigers on Thursday, but Drew Hutchinson will start that game now.

The team discussed having Estrada start on Friday or Saturday, but they instead decided to place him on the DL. He was placed on the DL on Wednesday, when the Blue Jays were looking for their fifth straight win over the Kansas City Royals.
