Royals Place Wade Davis on DL

The Kansas City Royals have placed closer Wade Davis on the disabled list with a forearm strain. He hasn't pitched since June 30, saving a Royals' 4-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

While he did save that game, he is still 1-0 with a 1.23 ERA and has blown two save opportunities. The two blown saves came after he recorded just one blown save, along with a 0.94 ERA and 17 saves, last season.

Davis will be able to return to the team on July 16, when the All-Star Break concludes. He is the third former All-Star on the Royals roster that is on the disabled list. Lorenzo Cain and Mike Moustakas are also on the DL.
