The San Diego Padres have traded Matt Kemp to the Atlanta Braves. The Padres got Hector Olivera in the trade deal.

Kemp has hit 23 home runs and recorded 69 RBIs over the course of the season. His .285 on-base percentage is the worst of his career. Kemp signed an eight-year, $160 million deal back in 2012.

Olivera signed a six-year, $62.5 million deal with the Braves last year after he joined the team from the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-team trade. He is currently serving an 82 game suspension after being arrested for a domestic dispute. He will be eligible to return on Monday.
