Mariners Trade Mike Montgomery Traded to Cubs

The Chicago Cubs have acquired pitcher Mike Montgomery from the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners have required prospects San Vogelbach and Paul Blackburn. They also got pitcher Jordan Pries.

Montgomery started just two games in 2016 for the Mariners. He went 3-4 in 32 games, however, recording a 3.24 ERA. Vogelbach hit .318 in 89 games with 16 home runs, 18 doubles and 64 RBIs while playing Triple-A baseball.

Blackburn was the 52nd overall pick of the 2012 MLB Draft. He went 6-4 with a 3.17 ERA while playing Double-A.
