Pirates Call Up Josh Bell

The Pittsburgh Pirates have called up first baseman Josh Bell. He was promoted from Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday. The team has made room for him on the 25-man roster by optioning Tyler Glasnow to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Bell hit .364 with nine doubles in June. He also recorded two triples, seven home runs and 26 RBIs. He ranked first in the International League with 36 extra base hits.

He has hit 13 home runs this season. That already tied his career high. He also led the IL with a .942 OPS.
