Matt Harvey to Undergo Season-Ending Surgery

New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey has will undergo season-ending surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome issues. The syndrome, which is caused by nerve and blood vessel compression affects the muscles between the neck and armpit.

While there is no set date for the surgery, the team did announce that the surgery will take place in St. Louis. ESPN reports the surgery will take place some time within the next week.

Harvey's agent Scott Boras says he should be fully ready for the start of the 2017 season. He went 4-10 with a 4.86 ERA in 2016.
