The San Diego Padres have traded pitcher Drew Pomeranz to the Boston Red Sox. Pomeranz was just selected to his first All-Star Game.
He is 8-7 this season with a 2.47 ERA. In return, San Diego got Red Sox pitching prospect Anderson Espinoza. He has a 5-8 record in Single-A ball, recording a 4.38 ERA.
Pomeranz has averaged 10.1 strikeouts per nine-inning game. He will also be reaching the end of his contract at the end of the season.
