The Boston Red Sox have acquired closed Brad Ziegler from the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Red Sox traded two prospects to make the deal between the two teams complete.

Ziegler has recorded 48 saves over the past two seasons. He has also recorded 63 strikeouts over the same span, which is 106 1/3 innings pitched. He has a 0.34 HR:9 ratio, which ties him for the best in the majors.

The move comes after original Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel was injured in pregame drills on Friday.
