The Arizona Diamondbacks once traded a No. 1 overall draft pick for pitcher Shelby Miller. Now they're optioning him to Triple-A Reno (NV).

Miller has a 2-9 record with a 7.14 ERA. The Diamondbacks traded the first overall pick in the 2015 MLB Draft to the Atlanta Braves to get Miller.

The trade deal was criticized by many in the beginning. Now, everyone knows why. The Diamondbacks were to contend in the NL West after getting pitcher Zack Greinke from the Los Angeles Dodgers. Instead, they now sit at a 38-52 record, last in the division.
